What does EUDR compliance require from my operations in practice?
Per shipment, EUDR requires GPS coordinates of all production plots, a deforestation-free statement verified against a reference date, full legal compliance documentation and a Due Diligence Statement submitted through TRACES NT. A missing or invalid DDS blocks market access, not just incurs a fine.
How is EUDR different from existing certification programs like Rainforest Alliance or 4C?
Certifications rely on periodic audits and mass balance models. EUDR requires continuous, plot-level geospatial verification per shipment. The two are not interchangeable: a certified supplier does not automatically satisfy EUDR requirements, though existing certification data can reduce the verification workload. Plot-level GPS proof and a DDS per shipment remain mandatory regardless. Sustaain bridges both by layering continuous verification on top of existing certification data.
We already have compliance tools in place. Why would we need Sustaain?
Most existing tools handle reporting or data collection in isolation. Sustaain covers the full stack: the methodology to qualify what counts as compliant, the data infrastructure to verify it continuously, and the decision output that makes it actionable for operations and leadership.

What data formats does Sustaain support?
Sustaain ingests PDFs, Excel, CSV, images, scans, GeoJSON, KML and Shapefiles. Native connectors exist for ICECoT, Meridia, Ecom, 4C and TrackVia. API and webhook integrations are available for continuous data refresh.
Our supplier data is fragmented and inconsistent. Is that a problem?
That is typically the entry point. Document Ingestion and the Data Formatter handle deduplication, geometry cleaning and reconciliation across heterogeneous sources. The messier the starting data, the more visible the value of structuring it once.
